Chicken Soup for the Father and Daughter Soul

Dear Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, and Theresa Peluso,
My name is Valerie and I live in Queens , New York . All my life my father and I have had a strong bond. I feel as though no father and daughter have the same love similar to my father and me. However, there are fights that leave one another mad at each other for at least a day or two. My father and I unfortunately have these little fights, but at the end I feel we are closer together. Sometimes we argue so much that I go crying to my bed. After those fights I feel upset because I always want there to be no arguments, but usually I get mad at any little thing.
After reading your book, Chicken Soup for the Father & Daughter Soul , it made me realize that my father would do so much for me, but on the other hand I would just make him stressed with all my bickering. . It talked about a father who worked at his daughter's school. One day at home they had an argument and the next day in the morning they didn't see each other until 4:30. At 4:30, the daughter had a volleyball game and her dad was there cheering for her. Then out of nowhere there was a shout for an ambulance. Once the ambulance arrived the girl's father was in it heading to the hospital. Later that night the news came to the girl that her father died of a heart attack in the hospital. Later, she was sad about the last words she told her father which were, "I hate you." Nonetheless she came to understand that her father, no matter what, will always love her.
When I finished reading that short story I started to cry to my father telling him how sorry I was for all the stress I may have caused him. He at first looked at me with disbelief but then started to hug me. I told him about the story and how said it made me. He smiled at me and told me, This sentence went through my head many times. It pleased me to know that the love of a father to his daughter was something that wouldn't go away.
Your story made a big impact on the way I saw my father. It made me realize how much pain I would have if I ever lost my father before I got to say sorry. Furthermore, I become conscious that a daughter's best friend will always be her parents. Thank you for the book Chicken Soup for the Father & Daughter Soul because it made me appreciate my father more. This book was a great ay for a father and daughter to love and value each other's love more.
Sincerely,
Valerie R.
