The mission of our school is to prepare all our students to meet and exceed city, state and national standards. By implementing a child-centered middle school philosophy, our professionals emphasize literacy and numeracy throughout the school day. Our community of learners strive to implement the best of current practice in all grades and content areas.
The students at I.S. 93 are divided into four separate academies in order to create smaller communities. Students in the same academies generally remain in the same area of the building, are taught by the teachers of those academies, and also eat lunch together. Additionally, APs, Guidance Counselors, and Deans remain with the same academy year after year in order to get to know students better. Click here for the academies page.
